Sense of motion was also difficult to determine, but was not as crucial as the recency of fault rupture. The stratigraphy of the region suggests a complex system of upblocks and downblocks, but remains the source of some discussion. Considering the faulting, folding and joints noted in the trench logs, it is a very complex system. No notable slickensides were found.
