Work Plans:

After reviewing the Grand Challenge, I began brainstorming about the possible features that SCEC-VDO could implement in the future. The more that I thought about small details that would make the program “cool,” the more that I realized just how much we have to do. Of course the ultimate goal for this summer is to develop a final product, ready for distribution, but it's what that final product will be that interests me. Right now my focus is on fixing what's there: all of those bugs or small additional features that take one person less than a day to complete. Once we have neared completion of those tasks it can get really exciting. With the number of people that we have working on this project, there are so many possibilities as far as enhancing the appearance of the program and potentially adding new plug-ins or features. The new code should be much easier to manage and once we reach this phase I think we will be able to do some amazing things in a short period of time. Although I don't know exactly which teams or projects I'll become involved with throughout the summer, I want to make sure that we end up with a user-friendly and effective software.
