Notes:
The San Joaquin Hills make up a hilly coastal region in southern Orange County.
The overall structure of the hills is anticlinal, but could be the result of folding, faulting, or a combination of the two.
The region is significant because the tectonics of its origin arenít clearly understood.
The San Joaquin Hills are home to the Pelican Hill and Shady Canyon fault zones. The Newport-Inglewood fault borders the area on the west.
